Welcome to September's Market Report.
SHELLFISH - There’s a plentiful supply of live winklesb,whelks and palourd clams from Weymouth and larger armandes from France. Large scallops in shell from Briddlington as well as top quality native lobsters that are far superior than the Canadian and American at this time of year.
FISH - Theres great quality turbots and megrim sole filleting well, the whole plaice is nice and firm just the job for top skinning and serving on the bone. Cornish squid and mackerel is plentiful too. We have been getting some extra large monkfish and extra large cod fillets landing so its a good time to get nice thick cut portions from these.
